Protect Yourself This Flu Season

Flu season is here. December is National Influenza Awareness Month. The Center for Disease Control recommends several measures for protecting yourself. If you have sore throat, cough, and watery eyes, don’t be too quick to dismiss it as common cold. Do yourself and those around you a favor. get checked. When a person with the flu coughs, sneezes or speaks, they can infect people nearby. Frequent handwashing is recommended, as well as wiping surfaces down. The flu virus can live on your hands for about an hour, up to 48 hours on surfaces. The CDC also recommends getting vaccinated. You should also drink plenty of liquids & get plenty of Vitamin C.
